Dear <<First Name>>,

Greetings from Cynthia Wood Spinner!

A new easier to shop web store is my biggest news.  I have been working on it all month.  Like any major change, this resembles renovating a house, it is an ongoing process.  All available spindles are in the new store, almost half of them are online for the first time.  Other tools will be moved soon.  The old store still functions for anything that has not moved.  You will find it all linked from the website like normal.
You may wonder why a wood worker is spending so much time working on the web side of her business.  I am a one woman, except the kind assistance of my Mother at festivals, business.  Every step from making an item through the accounting and taxes are all done by me.  So the website work has always been mine.  The old version involved me typing half a page of code and description for each and picture you saw.  This new version is database driven which allows me to put all the information in my inventory spreadsheet and upload items from there.
Never fear I have been in the workshop making things this month as well.
You may be curios how I use a bottom whorl spindle taking advantage of the notched whorl.  I filmed two short videos to show how.  It is just the picture, filming myself spinning is hard enough without talking, no sound.   This first one features how I get ready to spin.  The second one has the spindle in action.
I normally use my right hand to make yarn while the spindle spins.  However to get a clear look at what was happening I just let it add twist to the existing yarn.
