 Save the Date
Go ahead and get your calendar out.
For those new to our mail list, we'd like to ask you to “Save the Date” on your calendar for the Eastern Apicultural Society's 2019 Conference scheduled on July 15-19, 2019 in Greenville, South Carolina!
 Volunteer Opportunities
Would you like to be part of making EAS 2019 a fabulous conference?
If so, we have many different areas where you can volunteer.  Volunteering has it perks, including a reduction in conference registration depending on how many hours you volunteer.

The following are guidelines to help you decide how many hours you wish to volunteer:

  •  If volunteering for 4 to 7 hours, you can attend the conference for the remainder of the day for free.
  •  If you volunteer for 8 to hours, you can attend a second day of the conference for free and get a volunteer t-shirt,
or you can split the 8 hours of volunteering and 8 hours of attending talks between two days.
  •  If you volunteer for 16 hours (2 days), you receive a volunteer T-shirt and the other days of the conference for free.
 Spread the Word
You can help us get the word out - we make it easy!
Please help us spread the word by sharing this email with your state or local association newsletter editor, your friends, and others who might assist in getting the word out that EAS is coming to the South! Attached below are graphics, as seen above, for placement in newsletters and other forms of communication which they may use for newsletters and other communications.
You can also help by forwarding this email to others via social media and email using the icons below. Thank you for your help in spreading the word.

 South Carolina Trivia
  Nothing could be finer...
South Carolina has produced a number of renowned performers of jazz, rock, blues, R&B, country, bluegrass and other popular styles.

Perhaps the best known rock band to hail from South Carolina is Columbia's Hootie & the Blowfish, but other groups such as Spartanburg's The Marshall Tucker Band, The Swinging Medallions, Maurice Williams and the Zodiacs, alternative metal band Crossfade from Columbia, Charleston's indie Band of Horses, Southern rock band Needtobreathe, and Blue Dogs also hail from the Palmetto State.

Other prominent musicians and singers born and/or raised in the state include James Brown, Dizzy Gillespie, Chubby Checker, Eartha Kitt, Peabo Bryson, Arthur Smith, Cat Anderson, Tom Delaney, Freddie Green, Drink Small, Johnny Helms, Terry Rosen, Jabbo Smith, Bill Benford, Tommy Benford, Nick Ashford, Darius Rucker, Josh Turner, Bill Anderson, Edwin McCain, Duncan Sheik, Rob Thomas, John Phillips, Walter Hyatt, and David Ball. ~Wikipedia
