School Life
Reading

5 Ways to Reading

This week the focus of reading in school has been on reading fluency and reading skills.

Well done to the children who received their class weekly Reading Award.

We also have lots of children who are ready to receive their summer challenge reading Bronze, Silver pr Gold Awards.

Well done children.

Year 6 Peace Project

We are very privileged to be part of the Tim Parry and Jonathan Ball Peace Foundation.

This week our Yr 6 Peace Ambassadors were learning about and discussing the local area in which they live.

More information to follow in the coming weeks.

Year 5 Design Technology Lessons

All Saints supported Year 5 with some Design Technology lessons this week.

The mechanisms that were made showed the children’s construction skills.

Well done everyone.

5 Ways to Wellbeing

The focus next week in each class is Connect.

How can you connect with others?

Maybe we could connect in a language other than English.

How many ways can you say “hello” in a different language?

Happy to Help

Staff are always happy to help.

Please support our school community by communicating politely and in a co-operative manner with all school members.

Abusive and aggressive behaviour on the school premises or via the telephone will not be tolerated.

All concerns can be solved in an amicable way which will support our children, their wellbeing and learning.

Collective Worship

Thank you, Year 6, Class 14 for leading our Collective Worship this week.

Your theme was “Healing”. Thank you for helping us to focus on those who are sick and poorly. It is also always good to care for others who just may need a little TLC every now and again.

First Holy Communions

All information about communions will be distributed by parishes so it would be helpful if families attended mass within their parish to receive the correct dates and information.

The current Year 4 will hopefully make their First Holy Communion in Autumn 2021 when they are in Year 5.

The current Year 3 will hopefully complete their First Holy Communion in the Summer 2022 when they are in Year 4.

Well Done To Everyone !

Keep Up The Good Work!

Attendance

If your child needs to be off school for reasons other than illness you must make a request using the following form. School will decide if the request will be authorised and send you a letter.

Any pupil having an absence without making a request will be classed as unauthorised – so it’s really important that you inform us!

The best attenders this week are...

Class 4 Miss Trayer & Miss Haigh 100%

Class 9 Miss Rossiter = 100%

Class 5 - Mrs Canavan  = 99.4%

Class 6 - Mrs Elliott  = 99%

Class 10 Miss Hester = 99%

All of these classes were above our school target of 97%

This is Brilliant - Keep Up The Good Work!

Come on every other class... let's get your class on the leader board by being above 97% next week!

Attendance - Reporting Absences
Reporting ALL absences is even more important at the moment. This helps us to keep the building Covid-19 secure.

Parents please make sure you follow our procedures, so we don't have to isolate any bubbles.

Please telephone school on 0151 477 8400  on the first day of absence. You can also send an email to Admin@smaaa.info

Tell our admin staff the reason for the absence, and when you expect your child to return to school.

All unexplained absences will be looked at by our Attendance Lead, & possibly the School Attendance Service, so it's really important that you report all absences by 10am on the first day of absence!

Remember if your child is off school due to illness,  hospital  or dental appointments,  you must  also send an email with a copy of the medical letter / proof to Admin@smaaa.info

We cannot authorise any absence without proof!

Bringing Items Into School.

Can we please remind parents and children that items from home (Such as Teddy Bears, Toys, Stationery, Fidget Spinners etc.) should not be brought into school.

We must keep the building COVID-19 secure, to keep all our families safe!
Remember:

If anyone in a household is sick or showing signs of illness;
nobody from the household should come near school.

If someone is waiting for a Covid-19 test result
the whole household should not come near school!

If anyone in household has a cough, temperature, or loss of smell,
then a PCR test is needed, at a test centre, lateral flow tests cannot be used!

We do not want anyone put at risk!

Please note that the situation around Corona virus is rapidly changing and the information is correct at the time of sending this communication.

We will be updating further, as we have further information available.
