Manchester Students for the Exploration and Development of Space

Dear Reader, this newsletter is to provide updates and events relating to ManSEDS.

Additionally for anyone interested in other social media there is also a twitter and instagram page, @ManSEDS_UK and manchesterseds respectively.
The ManSEDS introductory meeting will be taking place at 3pm C9 Renold Building on the 25th of September. This meeting will layout ManSEDS aims as a whole along with pitching each project to attendees. If you are interested in a project but are unable to make it to the introductory session and do not want to miss out then contacting the ManSEDS members group on facebook or the project leaders directly. 
High Altitude Balloon:

This years current aims include a muon detector experiment, a collaborative glider launch with the UAV society and then working on a high altitude rocket launch with the ManSEDS rocketry group. 
UK Rover Project:

All information is posted on the ManSEDS UK Rover Project page:

This years current aims will continue to be focused around constructing a rover to compete in the Olymps Rover Trials.

EU Rover Project:

All information is posted on the Manchester Mars Rover page:

The project has available positions for new members and aims to continue work on the EU Rover for entry into the 2020 competition.

This year CanSat will be competing in the American Astronautical Society's CanSat competition again, applicants may sign up here CanSat is also running the less time intense UK CanSat competition which members can participate in additionally.

CanSat workshops will be running on Wednesdays 1-3pm, the first of which is 2nd October, location to be determined. 

Details for rocketry will be available at the introductory meeting, the first rocketry meeting will be held at 3pm on the 2nd October, location to be confirmed. 

This year rocketry will be helping its members to recieve the levels 1 and 2 rocketry UK certification. Rocketry will also be working on improving its current two stage rocket designs.
