Dear reader, this newsletter is to provide news, updates and general information to our support staff, sponsors and students on all of the projects and activities on ManSEDS.
PROJECT UPDATES
Initial funding for the projects has been allocated and, while projects are starting to pick up the pace, remember its never too late to get involved! You can contact the facebook page to find project meeting times.
 
Balloon Project
 
Teams are now working on the muon detector, high-altitude bacteria exposure experiment, and detachment mechanisms for the UAV glider launch.

The new payload design will be finishing construction shortly, awaiting final 3D printing.

A flora density mapping program is underway for use on the regular and pico-balloons.
UK Rover Project

The Competion by RAL Space has been officially announced! Preliminary research has started on mechanical design this year. Early project roles will soon be assigned.

EU Rover Project

Work on the  main chassis has started and is due to be completed by this December.

CanSat Project

Role selection for the ASS team has been completed and the team is now complete.

There will be no workshop however running this week for general CanSat project members.
Rocketry Project

In addition to certifying its members in rocketry, the project has also bought some hybrid motors for static testing.

Equipment for ground support in launches is also being purchased.   
MASTERCLASSES
 
ManSEDS  Masterclasses

The first two masterclasses are now complete, covering an introduction to Microcontrollers, 3D printing and computer aided design. If you missed the workshops and would like to learn, particularly for the upcoming microcontrollers 2 masterclass then you can find the full learning guides on the members facebook page.
GENERAL UPDATES
The ManSEDS Star
 
ManSEDS now has its own star! A minimal but novel way of bringing Manchester closer to space! It is located at RA:10h 59m 50.59s and DEC: -24gd 28’57.36” close to the Hydra constellation.
Luxembourg Visit

Recently ManSEDS visited Luxembourg for the Space Resources Week. If you are interested in doing a masters in space engineering in Luxembourg then you can get in touch with the facebook page or go online for more details.
