Dear reader, this newsletter is to provide news, updates and general information to our support staff, sponsors and students on the projects and activities at ManSEDS.
ManSEDS Innovation Fest
This year we are bringing Innovation Fest back! Several professionals from the space industry will be delivering interesting talks. You will have the opportunity to learn more about space exploration and development from people with first-hand experience, and to network with both professionals and fellow students. Keep an eye on our Facebook page, members group, or Instagram page for more information!
PROJECT UPDATE
Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, our teams continue to make progress. We invite everyone to join any of the ManSEDS projects: Balloon, Rocket and the EU and UK Rovers.
Mancunian Balloonian
Our team has been working hard to develop the balloon. The muon detector project is going well, and we will be simulating it to help set up the electronics that will handle the frequency of events which wee expect to observe in the upper atmosphere.
Rocketry Project
With Level 1 rocket designs completed, our team has been working hard on the competition rocket. The flight computer has been finished and the design process is underway. We will start building the rocket soon.
Rover Projects
The successful landing of the Perseverance rover sets another landmark achievement for the exploration of space. If rovers interest you, why not join our ManSEDS Rover projects? Let us know you're interested by filling this form, or find out more on our Facebook page, members group, or Instagram page.
LIFE WITH COVID-19
We understand first and foremost that safekeeping our society members' health is a paramount issue. Both the committee and the project teams have made a commitment to hold meetings online and to follow the government's and Manchester Students' Union's guidelines until face to face sessions and workshop access can resume.
