Pass It On Helps Early Head Start Program
The Pass It On Thrift Shop in Lake City was the setting for a financial donation to Three Rivers Community Action on March 3.
Shop manager/volunteer Kathy Rehfeldt presented a donation of $5000 to Three Rivers worker Laurie Secrist.
The donation will help the work of the Wabasha/Goodhue Early Head Start program, which serves infants and toddlers under 3 years of age as well as pregnant women. The program provides intensive, comprehensive child development and family support services to low income children, families and expectant mothers.
Secrist is an Early Head Start Home Base Visitor who works with families in weekly sessions of 90-minute tailored home visits. She says, “We look forward to offering our help and services. We can be contacted at 800-277-8418, or people can apply online at threeriverscap.org.”
Three Rivers Community Action is a nonprofit human service organization with a mission “to work with community partners to address basic human needs of people in our service area, thereby improving the quality of life of the individual, family and community.”
The Pass It On Thrift Shop is owned and operated by the First Congregational Church, UCC, in Lake City, and is run entirely by volunteers.
The church and all the shop volunteers thank the community for making this financial donation possible through purchases and donations of clothing, housewares and accessories.
Pass It On is located at 118 North Oak Street in Lake City. Hours of operation are Mondays 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Thursdays 4-7 p.m., and Saturdays 9 a.m. to noon.
The shop can be followed on Facebook, and more information can be found on the church website at lakecityucc.org.
