March 2019
Are you itching for Spring like I am?  I know we will be seeing sunshine and flowers soon, but in the meantime, you can start with freshening up the inside of your home with some pops of color!
2019 NYC Fashion Week Color Palette
Do you know that a lot of design in home decor originates from fashion trends? I noticed, while watching the Oscars, there were a lot of hot pink dresses worn by attendees.  Which popped against the white backdrop, just like a good neutral paint palette in your home.  However, I also love a good black dress, it is a great back drop to add some bling.
Here are some ways to add some color to your home without breaking the bank or doing a major overhaul.
Change out your lamps to add a pop of color.
Add a colorful throw to your bed or to the back of your couch or chair.
Accessorize with colorful books, fruit, bowls, pillows or artwork.
The best color is the one that makes you HAPPY!
Project Spotlight
I have recently been working on two renovation projects.
Check out the "before & after" below.
This homeowner wanted to update her master bathroom and make her shower bigger.  Yet she asked that I keep it warm and cozy like the rest of the home.  It is on a wooded lot and she loves the stained trim.  I chose the cabinetry in a warm tone with glazing and then chose the rest of the finishes to go with it.  We were not able to make the shower too much bigger unless we changed the window.  However, removing the soffit and opening up the wall makes the space feel much larger.  (Still waiting for glass shower doors and new window treatment)
This homeowner knew his home needed a major overhaul to be ready for sale.  He trusted me to do what I do!  We opened up the space by removing two "pony walls".  We added new flooring, paint, lighting and appliances.  We painted the cabinetry, freshened up both bathrooms and added new counter tops and accessories.
It looks like a brand new home!  It just went on the market and I hear it is getting great reviews.

Whether you’re a homeowner getting ready to sell or a real estate agent working with a client, you want to present a home in its best possible light. A well staged home sells faster and for more money.  Furthermore, realtors are more likely to show a house that looks move-in ready.
