Join us this Easter and bring a guest!

Some Info On Holy Week....

1. Maundy Thursday service will be conducted by the Celebrate Recovery team and will take place in Common Ground at 7, following the meal for CR participants. Worship, prayer, and hand washing can all be expected during this service. Rev. Kathy Griffith will preside.

2.  Good Friday services are held at 6:30 in the Sanctuary, led by Pastor Scott. There you will enjoy Congregational singing and a short message. It will not feel like the usual Good Friday service you're accustomed too. We will focus more on the cross and what it means to us than on the death of Christ. It's so hard to focus on his death when we already know he is risen!

3.  Sunrise service is in the courtyard at 6:30 AM Sunday. Dana Gilliam will lead that service along with members of the Common Ground worship team. Communion will be served.  Breakfast follows in the dining room, courtesy of the UM Men.

4. Our Easter services will have two distinct feels this year.  In Common Ground, we will focus on worship and Scripture as we celebrate the risen Savior.  The Traditional service will be just that-traditional. It will conclude with an open invitation to join the choir for the Hallelujah chorus.  Communion will be served in both services.

Common Ground Changes
There are a number of changes being implemented this month to the Common Ground worship service. Among those changes adopted but he worship team:
*Identification will be worn by greeters, ushers, nursery attendants, and children's church volunteers in order to help our guests find answers quickly from those in authority
*We have moved the morning snacks out into the hallway to ease congestion as folks enter the worship space.
* We have recruited up to 4 ushers to serve each week. You will see them outside, at the doors, and inside the worship space. They will assist in helping folks find seating, opening doors, and helping project the friendliness and safety of our church.
*The doors to the worship space will close at the conclusion of announcements. It is felt that our worship time has become less than reverent and God deserves our best. Ushers will close the doors and man them throughout the services to assist you if you need to step out. You can still go out if you need to, but outside noise from gathering groups and other distractions will be minimized, allowing for a more reverent worship experience.
*On Easter Sunday, we will have only one long table in place. We know many of you love to sit at the tables, but we are running out of space. On Palm Sunday we had our second biggest ever attendance at 165. Before Sam re-arranged the chairs, we were getting about 170 seats in the room. This past week we were able to get 190 chairs in place. So for this Sunday we will need to maximize our available space. I know some of you will be upset and I am sorry. but, this is a good problem to have as it is a sign of growth in our church! Our only other option, and it is one we are trying to think through as we speak, is to move to  two Sunday morning Common Ground services to handle the crowd. I hope you can join us in rejoicing over our growth, putting aside our own comfort temporarily, and agreeing that this is much better than dividing up our service just yet. Thank you for your patience and your heart for others!

What a joy we have to celebrate our risen Savior together with family and friends! To God be the glory!!

I'll see you all in worship-Pastor Scott
