FROM THE PARSONAGE
This week I thought I’d share a bit about me and our little family.
I am not actually from Alabama which you may have noticed if we’ve had a chance to speak! I grew up in West Lafayette, Indiana. West Lafayette is the home of Purdue University which is where I attended college! My undergraduate degree is in Early Childhood Education and Exceptional Needs. People often ask if it is really different living in Alabama and I always tell them that really the two states feel very similar—both full of good, down-to-earth people.
You may be wondering then how I ended up in Alabama! Ben and I actually met at Asbury Seminary in Wilmore, Kentucky. My degree from Asbury is in Christian Education. We met at a bonfire being held between our dorms. We dated for a year and got engaged in December of 2014. We were married the following year at Estes Chapel on campus a week after I graduated in December of 2015! We lived in a seminary townhouse the following spring while Ben finished up his last semester before graduating that May of 2016. After that we headed further south (back home to the North Alabama Conference of the UMC for Ben).
Since seminary we have spent time in a couple different places in Alabama. Our first stop was in Harvest, Alabama for a year and then we were most recently in Cedar Bluff, Alabama. Patrick was born in October of 2018—can’t believe that has already been almost two years ago! As you know we are blessed to be here now in Fayette with our sweet new addition!
This week big brother Patrick has been reading Julia some library books!
