Admin Council Meets this Sunday
at 3 PM

This is our regularly scheduled, quarterly business meeting for the Admin Council. We need to wrap up charge conference forms and set the calendar for the end of the year. It will be a busy time of work for this team. Finance and SPR will both meet at 2:30 PM, but in separate locations-this keeps the day from being so long for those who are on all teams.

Resignations
During the month of September, FFUMC had a staff member resign and another give notice of resignation. Devon Eason stepped down from her role of Administrative Assistant in order to spend more time on her growing ministry in the local jail and with those struggling with addiction.  We wish her the best in her future and stand in support of her most vital ministry.
Sam Junkin gave the SPR notice of his intention to step down as worship leader in the Common Ground service. He still leads that service, granting the church a time to search for a new worship leader. Sam has been instrumental in the growth of that service and the entire church and we will miss him. He is available to talk about his heart in the midst of this should you have questions or concerns. Sam, thank you for your tremendous gifts that have been such a blessing to so many!
Several musicians and vocalists also stepped down from their positions on the praise team during this time of transition there. All of them were volunteers with many of them serving our church while still attending their own. Each one made great sacrifices of time and energy to lead us. Each of them have been an amazing blessing to our church and we wish them all the best. Thank you all-you mean more to us than you can ever know!

New Hires
Welcome back Rachell Gunn as our new Administrative Assistant. She was such a blessing when she was here and is so excited to be back with people she loves dearly. She works on Mondays and Thursdays, and I'm sure she'd love to have you pop in to say hello.
Over the next 4 weeks, we will have guests leading us in worship at Common Ground. They will meet with the SPR Team right afterwards at 10:00 AM for an interview. At the end of this period, the team will meet to determine if any of these applicants are suitable for hire. If you have input, please see a member of the SPR Team to voice your opinions: Jack Nolen, Sandy Nolen, Bob Keyes, Denese Marion, Johnny Mansfield, Joan Weaver, Matt Madison, Dale Hindman, Stuart Griswold, Pastor Scott, Pastor Kathy

Meal prep begins around 8, distribution about 10:30. This is a great ministry for all ages to be involved. We have been low on delivery people, so please make this a priority this month.

Christian Center of Concern needs: bar soap and dish soap

In As Much Fund: donate on Communion Sunday or through church office

Got old cleats? O.P. and Justin White are teaming up with August Junkin and others to provide good, used cleats for youth who cannot afford them for local sports. They are also seeking donations to help place new shoes on the feet of children in local schools who are in need. Bring your old cleats or your donation for new ones by the church and help Share the Spotlight with those in need!

Campus Ministries Canned Food Drive: Donate good canned food items for college students at Bevill State who don't have enough to eat. You can drop off those blessings at the giving tree area.

We have started a new mission called FRIEND TO FRIEND, to reach out into our community to visit with those that need a friend.

We meet every second Tuesday of the month at Yester Oaks in their Rec room from 10 am until Noon.
We are here to be a friend of Jesus, to reach out to those that need company, prayer, love and laughter or just someone to listen. We also celebrate each Resident’s birthday for that month. If you feel that you would like to join us, please contact Susan OBrien, Carol Thornel or Joan Weaver. We will be needing more Friends as we grow.
