If there is anything that God is deeply invested in it’s the spiritual growth of His people, and one of the major ways that God has created to work toward this goal is through the church. In the church, God brings together all His people into one worldwide body, something that we refer to as the “body of Christ.” God has chosen to work in the lives of his people through the church because He has called us to worship him not just as individuals, but as a community. In Hebrews 10:24-25 we are told “24 And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, 25 not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”
Our divine calling is to encourage one another and “spur” each other on towards love and good deeds. In doing this, we contribute to the spiritual growth of our brothers and sisters in Christ. Proverbs 27:17 tells us “As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.” This is why it is so important that we always be engaged in the community of the church. It is through our interactions with and support from our fellow faithful that we experience the grace and love of God in profound and life-changing ways. We do not just grow alone, but we grow together as the entire church, the body of Jesus Christ.

Pastor Ben

We’ve had a regular week around the house this past week!
Patrick has been enjoying some of his new birthday presents. He loves playing with Play-Doh. We got him some little tools he can use to enhance the fun. One of his favorite things to do is use the little tool that makes a smile print in the Play-Doh. Now that he is two he has been eating some of his meals at his new little table. He seems like such a big boy to me now!
Julia is still doing lots of sleeping but is definitely doing lots of growing too! She is smiling and cooing more. As you can imagine we love just sitting and watching her! We’ve had her do some “tummy time” this week. She pushes her feet against the ground and starts scooting herself right along! As you can see here after all that hard work she decided a short nap was the next order of the day.
We’ve been told regarding raising kids that “the days are long but the years are short.” We try to follow the advice often given to enjoy this time while they are young. If your kids are grown, we’d love to hear sometime about your memories of their little years. What advice would you give now to parents of young ones?

We could really use your help this month! We have been having trouble getting enough volunteers to deliver food. If you would, prayerfully consider giving of your time in SERVICE to our community!

We could also use some desserts! If you would like to donate desserts, please bring them to the church kitchen either Friday from 12 -3  or Saturday morning at 8.
