Bishop Wallace-Padgett to Speak
On September 16th at 6 pm, the Bishop will join the SW District in a time of worship and reflection hosted here at Fayette FUMC. We ask that you mark this on your calendar and try to attend. Let's show the district how we do things at Fayette 1st!  It will be an awesome night of worship led by our praise band. We will also celebrate the more than 100 new touches our District has engaged since the challenge from our DS.

Feeding the Teams
Fayette FUMC will resume our tradition of feeding the football team each Thursday during the football season. The team arrive about 4:30 for meals each week, not just on home dates. We will also enjoy feeding the Middle School Tigers football team from time to time and was honored to provide a meal for the high school marching Tigers during band week. Thank you to all who make this possible! And we want to offer an open invitation to the church to donate your time in preparation or your gifts to help purchase these meals as we love the young people in our community.

Celebration of Baptism Remembrance
We celebrate with Susan O'Brien as she marked her commitment to Christ with a service of Baptism remembrance at Bays Lake near Bankston, with Pastor Scott presiding. What a beautiful service!

Our Newest Member
Welcome Jessica Warren who joins this family of faith via a transfer from Winfield FUMC. Jessica is a librarian from the Fayette County Library and a tremendous addition to our family.

First Responders Sunday will be September 8th. We will pray for each of our communities First Responders by name. Also, each name will be entered in a drawing for great prizes and gear. These gifts will be delivered on Monday morning, along with breakfast to each area HQ. If you would like to accompany the team to deliver, make a donation to offset the cost fo the gifts, or provide a breakfast casserole or other breakfast item for our first responders, please see Pastor Scott.
Classes start the first week in September-sign up today!! Sign ups by emailing the church office or filling our your Connect Card on Sunday mornings.

THANK YOU FOR LOVING YOUR CHURCH!!

Fishes and Loaves will prepare and distribute over 500 meals to those in need around the Fayette and Berry communities. The next date they will gather is on September 21. Meal prep begins around 8, distribution about 10:30. This is a great ministry for all ages to be involved. We have been low on delivery people, so please make this a priority this month.

Christian Center of Concern needs: bar soap and dish soap

In As Much Fund: donate on Communion Sunday or through church office

Middle School Supplies needed to help offset costs to teachers who supply items for kids in need. Sheets of needs can be found outside of Common Ground.

Honduras Mission trip: Sarah Smyth will soon be departing for a medical mission trip to Honduras where she will be in prayer for patients, new mothers, and children in the hospital there. You can join her effort to share the love of Christ by making donations of items to be given to those in need or by giving financially. See her bin outside Common Ground for more info.

Got old cleats? O.P. and Justin White are teaming up with August Junkin and others to provide good, used cleats for youth who cannot afford them for local sports. They are also seeking donations to help place new shoes on the feet of children in local schools who are in need. Bring your old cleats or your donation for new ones by the church and help Share the Spotlight with those in need!

We have started a new mission called FRIEND TO FRIEND, to reach out into our community to visit with those that need a friend.

We meet every second Tuesday of the month at Yester Oaks in their Rec room from 10 am until Noon.
We are here to be a friend of Jesus, to reach out to those that need company, prayer, love and laughter or just someone to listen. We also celebrate each Resident’s birthday for that month. If you feel that you would like to join us, please contact Susan OBrien, Carol Thornel or Joan Weaver. We will be needing more Friends as we grow.
