Broadband in Appleton -- Message from Select Board
The Select Board has agreed to set up a Broadband committee to look at the availability of broadband in Appleton and to suggest a potential rollout of additional service to those areas not yet served. The Board is looking for people to serve on the committee and hopes to have representation from all parts of town. The committee would canvas residents to see what the appetite is for broadband in underserved areas and put together a proposal for Tidewater and other broadband suppliers. There are grants that will become available this year to help with the broadband expansion and those towns who put together a proposal stand the best chance of getting this money.
If you are interested in joining the committee or would like to voice your opinion about expansion of broadband please email firstname.lastname@example.org. Below is the location of the Tidewater fiber in Appleton that customers can sign up for now. Broadband is defined as a speed of 25mb or more.
