March 2020 Happenings
It's another busy month at Appleton Library. We are excited to have Andy Vietze speak about his 18 years as a Baxter State Park Ranger for our Third Thursday Talks on Thurs., March 19th from 7:00 pm  to 8:00 pm. Our book club, in partnership with the Knox-Lincoln Soil & Water Conservation District, will read and discuss Richard Louv's new book: Our Wild Calling on March 18 & 25 3:00 - 4:30 pm. Don't miss these events; mark your calendars.
One of our ongoing fundraisers is Clynk bottle return at Hannaford’s.  Please stop by the library and pick up a pre-labeled bag to fill!

 

 

Town of Appleton Survey

2020 Comprehensive Town Plan Surveys are available at Appleton Library for all residents aged 18 and older. This survey will help guide future growth and development for the Town of Appleton. Surveys are due April 15th. There are several ways to complete the survey:

  • online at https://appleton.maine.gov/ (preferred option) 
  • print a copy from the Town website and drop off at the Town office
  • pick up a hardcopy at various locations, including Appleton Library
  • or complete the survey online using the Appleton Library computers.  
 

March 2020 Happenings: Library Sponsored Events 

 

Tuesday evenings, 6:00 - 7:00 pm:  Gentle Yoga Flow with Kyla and new class

Wednesday evenings, 6:00 - 7:00 pm:  Restorative Yoga with Kyla. Registered students only. Next session starts March 3rd & 4th for 6 weeks. Register online at  https://journeytohealth.coursestorm.com

 

Thursday evenings, March 5, 12, 19 & 26,  6:00 – 8:00 pm: Tech Assist.  Every Thurs. evening, we will be available to help with computer questions, and can help troubleshoot Microsoft and Google Docs issues. 

 

Tuesday, March 17, 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm: Fiber Arts Tuesday.  Itching to complete that fiber arts project?  Come and stitch with us on the third Tuesday of every month.

 

Wednesday, March 18 & 25, 3:00 - 4:30 pm: Environmental Book Group with Knox-Lincoln Soil & Water Conservation District. We will be reading Richard Louv’s new book: Our Wild Calling: Our Wild Calling: How Connecting with Animals Can Transform Our Lives—and Save Theirs.  Registration is not required, but welcomed.  Please call 596-2040 to register. Appleton Library has two copies.

 

Wednesday, March 18, 7:00 - 8:00 pm:  Monthly Library Board Meeting.  All are welcome!

 

Thursday, March 19, 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm: Third Thursday Talk: Andy Vietze will speak about 18 years as a Baxter Park ranger. Vietze is a bestselling author of White Pine, Boon Island, and Becoming Teddy Roosevelt. He will have autographed copies for sale.

 

Weekly Children Activities: Saturdays at 10:30 am: StoryTime for children of any age!  

Hours: Tuesdays noon - 8 pm, Wednesdays 3 pm - 6 pm,

Thursdays 10 am - 3 pm & 6 pm - 8 pm, Saturdays 10 am - 1 pm
