Services This Week at Annunciation

Dear Faithful of Annunciation,

As we continue to worship while still adhering to COVID-19 precautions and safety measures, please remember that regular social distancing and wearing of masks will be closely followed on our parish grounds.

Please join us in celebrating the Divine Services for the Feast of St. Timothy of the 70 Apostles on Friday, January 22nd and wishing our associate priest, Fr. Timothy, a happy nameday and many years! Χρόνια Πολλά!

Because it is being celebrated on a weekday this year (meaning, significantly less attendees), we will celebrate the services for the Feast of St. Timothy from inside our church building.  If you are able, healthy, and comfortable, we invite you to pray and celebrate with us.  Masks and social distancing protocols will, of course, be in place.
As always, our services will continue to be broadcast via our live-stream.

We look forward to praying and celebrating the Divine Liturgy with you, weather permitting, outside in our Plateia/Courtyard on Sunday, January 24th for the 14th Sunday of Luke.
Following the Divine Liturgy, we will pray and cut the Vasilopita invoking the blessing of our father among the saints, St. Basil the Great.

With love in Christ,

Fr. James Retelas
Presiding Priest

Homily
The Homily offered by Fr. James Retelas on January 17, 2021
Every week in our Sunday Bulletin, This Week at Annunciation e-mails, and on our social media platforms, we will feature important events in the history of our Parish! Don't forget to check back weekly to learn more about Annunciation over the past 100 years!
On January 17, 1999, the Antonias and Anthonys of our parish hosted a luncheon in the hall after services for the Feast of St. Anthony the Great. Tony J. Stathos chaired this event.
Celebrating 100 years, dedicated to the glory of God!
Please enjoy this video announcing the beginning of our Centennial celebrations and save the date for our Centennial events!
Dear FDF Family,

We pray you and your families are in good health and spirit.

Since our last communication regarding FDF and an in-person event in 2021, we continued to monitor COVID-19 and health regulations across the states for events and gatherings. Unfortunately, we are unable to host an in-person event in 2021.

This has been a challenging year for us all since we last saw each other in February 2020. Although we cannot all be together this coming February, the FDF team honors our faith, heritage and traditions year-round. We plan to stay connected and keep the kefi going through our social channels for now.

Thank you for your continued support of this ministry. We look forward to seeing you in 2022.

The Opening of St. George Orthodox Church, Laikipia, Kenia
An update from His Grace, Bishop Neofitos of Nyeri and Mount Kenya, December 27, 2020:
"The blessing and opening of the St. George today (December 25, 2020)! What a joy we experienced today. Everyone is grateful and thankful to God! Thank you Father James Retelas and the faithful of the Annunciation Parish-Sacramento."

The construction of the St. George Orthodox Church in Laikipia has been made possible by YOUR prayers and support of the work and Church in Bishop Neofitos's diocese. We continue to keep him and his flock in our prayers. If you have any questions of how you can continue to help, please do not hesitate to contact us.
