Pray with us the Divine Services for the

Second Saturday of the Souls & Forgiveness Sunday (Cheese-fare)

Around the time of Great Lent, we have some Saturdays which are set aside for the commemoration of the those who have fallen asleep in the Lord. We call these days “Saturday of the Souls”.  It is customary to celebrate the Divine Liturgy, and to offer the memorial service for all our loved ones, family, and friends.  We invite you to prepare Koliva (please note, we will not be mixing the koliva into one bowl, but rather you will take home what you have prepared and offered).  To submit the names of your loved ones who have fallen asleep in the Lord, please bring them to church or submit via the online form included in this email (please, do not do both).

This Sunday, we celebrate Forgiveness Sunday.

May we be strengthened during this season, and truly and completely love Christ our God, with all are heart, mind, and soul. Amen!

Dear Faithful of Annunciation,

As we continue to worship while still adhering to COVID-19 precautions and safety measures, please remember that regular social distancing and wearing of masks will be closely followed on our parish grounds.

It is wonderful to see you back in church, and to hear your voices as we pray to Christ, our Immortal King and God!  Please join us tomorrow to pray the Divine Services for the Saturday of the Souls, and this Sunday for Forgiveness (Cheese-fare) Sunday, inside our church building.  We also invite you to return to Church for the Vespers of Forgiveness at 7 pm Sunday evening.  We begin Great and Holy Lent by asking and offering forgiveness to one another.

If you are able, healthy, and comfortable, we invite you to pray and celebrate with us, in person, in church.  Masks, contact tracing, and social distancing protocols will, of course, be in place.  As always, our services will continue to be broadcast via our live-stream.

This Sunday, March 14, we also sadly say "goodbye" to our Pastoral Assistant, now Deacon Efstratios Magoulias, as he leaves us for a new assignment in the Metropolis of Denver.  Deacon Efstratios will serve the Divine Liturgy with us, we will present him with several gifts, and you will have an opportunity to greet him and his wife, Diakonissa Danae after the service.  We thank him for his work here and we pray that God will bless him in his new assignment!

With love in Christ,

Fr. James Retelas
