The Bicentennial:
200 Years of Greek Independence
March 25, 2021

Updated post:
In honor of the Greek Bicentennial of Independence, starting at 6:30 on Wednesday, March 24, the Sacramento Memorial Auditorium will be lighted with the blue and white color of Greek Flag!  The McKinley Village underpass will also be lit in blue and white at 7:20 tonight.  Various other buildings around town will be lit in honor of Greek Independence.  It is best to see the lights when it is dark outside.  Bishop Ioannis, our Metropolis Chancellor, will be joining us tonight and tomorrow for services.  After services on Thursday morning, we will also raise the Greek flag in front of the Church and sing the Doxology in honor of Greek Independence.
Ζήτω η Ελλάδα!
We also want to thank City Councilmember Jeff Harris for his help in coordinating observances of Greek Independence this week around the city!
Ευχαριστώ πολύ!
Dear Faithful of Annunciation,

As we continue to worship while still adhering to COVID-19 precautions and safety measures, please remember that regular social distancing and wearing of masks will be closely followed on our parish grounds.

It is wonderful to see you back in church, and to hear your voices as we pray to Christ, our Immortal King and God!  Please join us tonight and tomorrow to pray the Divine Services inside our church building.  We welcome Bishop Ioannis to our Parish for the services!

If you are able, healthy, and comfortable, we invite you to pray and celebrate with us, in person, in church.  Masks, contact tracing, and social distancing protocols will, of course, be in place.  As always, our services will continue to be broadcast via our live-stream.

With love in Christ,

Fr. James Retelas
Presiding Priest
