Αιωνία η Μνήμη αυτού!
This past Monday, May 17, we said 'Good-bye' to our beloved Choir director, Mr. Bill Bobolis.  Bill directed our Annunciation choir for more than 50 years and worked very hard to make our Choir one of the premiere choirs in the Metropolis if not in the Archdiocese.  Eternal memory!  Our hearts go out to his family and especially to his beloved wife, Evelyn.  Our thanks to Jamie Bobolis for carrying on her father's work.
(The picture above is from Palm Sunday 2013 when Bill was still able to come to church to direct every Sunday.)

This Week at Annunciation

Dear Faithful of Annunciation,
Christ is risen!  Χριστός Ανέστη!

We have reached the point of Mid-Pentecost, half way between Pascha and the Feast of Pentecost.

As you no doubt have heard, the CDC has begun to lift restrictions!  This is certainly a positive development.  To insure your safety, at this point, we as a Metropolis continue to worship while adhering to some COVID-19 precautions and safety measures.  We sent the Metropolitan's statement concerning this to you last week.  You may also access this statement on the Metropolis website (link above).  We will no longer be asking for your name and phone number for tracing, and we will no longer be taking temperatures.  At this point, we still ask you to wear a mask within the Church sanctuary, especially if you have not been vaccinated.

If you are able, healthy, and comfortable, we invite you to pray and celebrate with us, in person, in church.  As always, our services will continue to be broadcast via our live-stream.  We have now been able once again to offer "Coffee Hour" in our hall following Divine Liturgy!  A big thank you to all of the volunteers who are making coffee and providing food.

With love in Christ,
Fr. James Retelas
Presiding Priest

The Sunday Sermon
Sunday Sermon from May 16, 2021.  Fr. James Retelas.
Every week in our Sunday Bulletin, This Week at Annunciation e-mails, and on our social media platforms, we will feature important events in the history of our Parish! Don't forget to check back weekly to learn more about Annunciation over the past 100 years!
May 23rd, 1957  Mortgage on our current Annunciation church retired.  The Fundraising Chairman was George E. Johnson, father of Eppie Johnson.
To celebrate Annunciation’s 100th Anniversary, we are preparing a celebration album to convey the history of our Church, its organizations and wonderful families. Instead of advertisements or “best wishes” pages, we’d like our parishioners to submit their family history and treasured photos to help us tell Annunciation’s story for generations to come. We also encourage our church organizations to submit their history and contributions to Annunciation over the decades. Please submit your story and photos from March 15 through June 15, 2021.  If you wish, you may simply submit a picture with names for the album.  This only costs $20!
