Services This Week at Annunciation

Dear Faithful of Annunciation,
As we continue to worship while still adhering to COVID-19 precautions and safety measures, please remember that regular social distancing and wearing of masks will be closely followed on our parish grounds.

Please join us in our church building to pray the Small Paraklesis to the Theotokos, every Wednesday at 6:00 pm.  Also this week, we will be celebrating the Divine Services for the Feast of the Presentation of our Lord into the Temple (Υπαπαντή) on Tuesday, February 2nd.

Because it is not being celebrated on a Sunday this year (meaning, significantly less attendees), we will celebrate the services for the Feast of the Presentation of our Lord into the Temple (Υπαπαντή) from inside our church building.  If you are able, healthy, and comfortable, we invite you to pray and celebrate with us.  Masks and social distancing protocols will, of course, be in place.
As always, our services will continue to be broadcast via our live-stream.

We look forward to praying and celebrating the Divine Liturgy with you on Sunday, February 7th, for the 16th Sunday of Matthew.
With love in Christ,
Fr. James Retelas
Presiding Priest

The Homily offered by Efstratios "Yianni" Magoulias on January 31, 2021
Every week in our Sunday Bulletin, This Week at Annunciation e-mails, and on our social media platforms, we will feature important events in the history of our Parish! Don't forget to check back weekly to learn more about Annunciation over the past 100 years!
In 1957, the mortgage on our present church was retired. The fundraising chairman was George E. Johnson, father of Eppie Johnson. Our old church at 620 N Street was purchased by the Sacramento Redevelopment Agency.
To keep you and our community safe, the following measures will be taken:
  • Face coverings must be worn at all times
  • Your temperature will be taken upon arrival
  • Hand washing is required upon arrival and at intervals throughout shift
  • Gloves must be worn at all times when handling food
  • Volunteers will be separated into task-based groups to support social distancing
Parish Vasilopita
Thank you for joining us yesterday for the Divine Liturgy, and for the cutting of our parish Vasilopita, invoking the blessing of our father among the saints, St. Basil the Great!

By your generosity and support, donations collected by our Philoptochos at the cutting of our Vasilopita will benefit the Saint Basil Academy and Orphanage.
