Seasons Greetings from the Cokesbury Children's Center!

The CHRISTmas season is finally here, and The Children's Center is a wonderful place to experience the joy children bring to this time of year. I love visiting the classrooms to see what the teachers have planned for their festive activities and projects. Teaching the children about Christ's birth is an essential part of our curriculum at Christmas.

We are looking forward to the Nativity Christmas Program. The children are practicing their songs, and the VPK classes are learning their parts to bring Mary, Joseph, Shepherds, and Wise Men to life in a retelling of the Christmas story. The teachers and children work hard to perform a Holiday event parents will remember for years.

Christmas is also a time to show our Teachers how much we appreciate all the love and dedication they give to the children throughout the year. This year we will celebrate the Teachers from December 12th – 16th. We have an ugly sweater and door contest, raffles, and a Staff Appreciation Breakfast. Then the teachers and families will get a two-week break to rest, so they are ready for our second semester. Please keep the Staff and our Center families in your prayers this Holiday Season.

Blessings,

Kristen Rasmussen
Children's Center Director
Thank you, Cokesbury!

Your generosity in support of our community's children shines bright this season. Through Operation Santa, our church provided gifts for 18 children and teens in foster care through Families First Network. In addition, $1,150 in monetary donations were given to supply Christmas for additional children in foster care.

More opportunities are available if you missed sponsoring a child or would like to give to other ministries with children this Christmas:
  • Sponsor coats, shoes, and winter accessories for children at Holm Elementary.  This can be done through the Amazon registry found at this link.    https://www.cokesburychurch.com/kids-coats/
  • Donate a $15 Walmart gift card for a child at Holm Elementary for the family to purchase other needed items.
  • Give towards our church's offering to Embrace Florida Kids (formerly the United Methodist Children's Home). The offering collected on Christmas Eve will be given to the work of this vital ministry.
