May 20, 2022

The Jabez Prayer Team at Cokesbury began approximately 20 years ago with Chuck Christian as team leader. Over the years, the prayer warriors have met once a week in a small room adjacent to the sanctuary; now, we meet in Room 402 each Monday at 11:00 am. Some members have been consistently attending the weekly prayer time for years, and some for shorter periods. We welcome all who would join us for as long as they feel called.

In 1 Chronicles 4: 9-10, Jabez prayed for God’s blessing, and God granted his request. In the biblical sense, a request for God’s blessing means asking for or imparting supernatural favor. When we ask for God’s blessing, we are not asking for more of what we could get for ourselves, but instead, we ask for God’s infinite goodness that only God has the power to give us.

In this spirit, the Cokesbury Jabez Team offers prayers for those who have requested prayer or need God’s blessing for health or other matters. It is an honor and privilege for us to pray for your prayer concerns and joyfully praise our Lord for his blessings on you, your family, and your friends. If you would like to be a member of this group, have a prayer request, or wish to have more information, don’t hesitate to get in touch with Chuck Christian at 850-477-1307.

Join Cokesbury as we celebrate Grace Sill,
who has been accepted into the Fulbright Program.

The Fulbright Program is an international academic exchange sponsored by the U.S. Government to facilitate mutual understanding between the U.S. and other countries. The U.S. Department of State and the Taiwanese Fulbright representatives help organize and administer the fellowship and its benefits. As a Fulbright Scholar, Grace will teach English in elementary schools in New Taipei City, Taiwan. Teaching is the platform through which the ultimate goal of cultural exchange is enacted. To that end, Grace will be in Taiwan from August 2022 to July 2023, teaching English, learning about Taiwanese culture and getting involved in her community, traveling around Taiwan, and eating really, really good food.
