Out of The Ashes
March 25, 2022
Springtime has officially arrived. The weather is beautiful, the trees and flowers are beginning to bloom. Spring is traditionally known as a time of new life. As we continue our journey through the Lenten season, the arrival of Spring is a reminder of God's Creation of renewal. In Ephesians, Paul says:
22  Throw off your old sinful nature and your former way of life, which is corrupted by lust and deception. 23 Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes. 24 Put on your new nature, created to be like God—truly righteous and holy.

Ephesians 4:22-23 (New Living Translation)
Jesus called for us to repent from the world's ways and our former lives. Paul is practically telling us to renew our minds through repentance. We are "to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness."
What better time than now to pursue renewal in our hearts? During this period of renewal in nature, let us renew ourselves through repentance from anything that holds us back from total commitment to God. Let us maintain our path to ongoing holiness. Therefore, we must continually renew our minds and hearts through prayer, worship, and Scripture study.
