Daily COVID-19 Update

Egyptian Health Department was notified of a Saline County resident who has passed away due to complications of Coronavirus (COVID-19). We, at Egyptian Health Department, are saddened by this news and our thoughts are with the family.
Egyptian Health Department was notified on May 9, 2021 of 1 Southeastern Illinois resident who has tested positive for Coronavirus (COVID-19). The individual:

  • White County
    • Female: 1 in their 40’s

 
 
To date, Saline County has had a total of 2,725 lab confirmed positives, including 54 deaths, White County has had a total of 1,793 lab-confirmed positives, including 27 deaths, and Gallatin County has a total of 503 lab-confirmed positives of COVID-19, including 3 deaths. The Illinois Department of Public Health, their healthcare provider, and the individuals have all been notified and are monitoring the situation.

To help slow the spread of COVID-19 in our communities, please answer your phone. Contact Tracers may be calling you to let you know that you have been exposed to a confirmed COVID-19 positive. Remember to maintain physical distancing of 6 feet or more at all times.
If you have been tested for COVID-19, please remember that you have to isolate at home until you have received your test results. Please note: If you have received results for a COVID-19 Rapid Test-- 𝙋𝙊𝙎𝙄𝙏𝙄𝙑𝙀 or 𝙉𝙀𝙂𝘼𝙏𝙄𝙑𝙀-- you should still 𝙄𝙎𝙊𝙇𝘼𝙏𝙀 until you receive your lab-confirmed results. Help stop the spread of COVID-19 in your community.

IDPH announced that Illinois had a total of  1,741 new confirmed cases and 30 additional deaths. Bringing the total of 1,354,967 confirmed cases and 22,223 deaths in Illinois.

Wash your hands frequently. Wear a face covering if you have to go out. Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces. Remain 6 feet apart from others.
