Daily COVID-19 Update

Update: Egyptian Health Department will offer COVID Vaccinations and Boosters 12/21 and 12/22 in Eldorado from 8:30-11:30am and 1:30-3:45pm.
We will also offer them 12/27, 12/28 and 12/29 from 8:30-11:30am and 1:30-3:45pm in Eldorado as well. All vaccinations (and boosters) available! No appointment necessary, walk ins welcome!

Egyptian Health Department was notified December 22-26, 2021 of 107 Southeastern Illinois residents who have tested positive for Coronavirus (COVID-19). The individuals: 

  • Saline County 
    Female: 3 under the age of 5, 2 under the age of 10, 6 in their teens, 11 in their 20’s, 5 in their 30’s, 5 in their 40’s, 2 in their 50’s, 5 in their 60’s, 3 in their 70’s, 1 in their 80’s 
    Male: 3 under the age of 5, 4 under the age of 10, 1 in their teens, 4 in their 20’s, 4 in their 30’s, 4 in their 40’s, 6 in their 50’s 

  • Gallatin County 
    Female: 1 under the age of 5, 4 in their 30’s, 1 in their 50’s 
    Male: 1 in their 30’s 

  • White County 
    Female: 1 under the age of 1, 3 in their teens, 3 in their 20’s, 1 in their 30’s, 4 in their 40’s, 4 in their 50’s, 3 in their 60’s, 1 in their 70’s, 1 in their 80’s 
    Male: 2 under the age of 10, 1 in their teens, 1 in their 30’s, 3 in their 40’s, 1 in their 50’s, 1 in their 60’s, 1 in their 70’s 

To date, Saline County has had a total of 5,202 lab confirmed positives, including 74 deaths, White County has had a total of 3,346 lab-confirmed positives, including 33 deaths, and Gallatin County has a total of 1,001 lab-confirmed positives of COVID-19, including 10 deaths. The Illinois Department of Public Health, their healthcare provider, and the individuals have all been notified and are monitoring the situation. 

To help slow the spread of COVID-19 in our communities, please answer your phone. Contact Tracers may be calling you to let you know that you have been exposed to a confirmed COVID-19 positive. Remember to maintain physical distancing of 6 feet or more at all times.
If you have been tested for COVID-19, please remember that you have to isolate at home until you have received your test results. Please note: If you have received results for a COVID-19 Rapid Test-- 𝙋𝙊𝙎𝙄𝙏𝙄𝙑𝙀 or 𝙉𝙀𝙂𝘼𝙏𝙄𝙑𝙀-- you should still 𝙄𝙎𝙊𝙇𝘼𝙏𝙀 until you receive your lab-confirmed results. IDPH announced that Illinois has had a total of 2,021,302 confirmed cases and 27,435 deaths in Illinois.

Watch your distance (6 ft!)

Wash your hands frequently. Wear a face covering if you have to go out. Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces. Remain 6 feet apart from others.

Need tested for COVID-19 in Gallatin County?
Gallatin County Wellness Center continues to offer COVID-19 testing and due to high transmission currently, we are encouraging members of the community to get tested. Other testing sites in Gallatin County include Christopher Rural Health Planning Corp. in Shawneetown. We will also add an image in the comments of local testing sites in Saline and White Counties as well.
