March 23, 2020
Egyptian Health Department would like to update our communities of Gallatin, Saline and White Counties regarding the Coronavirus Disease, known as COVID 19.  As of today, Monday, March 23,  at 4:00 PM, EHD has not been notified of any confirmed cases of COVID 19 in our tri-county area.

It should be noted that cases in Illinois are increasing. Sunday, March 22, there were 1,049 cases in Illinois and as of today, Monday, March 23, there have been 1,285 confirmed cases. IDPH stated in the 2:30PM Daily Briefing that there are now 31 counties in Illinois with confirmed COVID 19  cases.

Governor Pritzker has issued a Stay at Home Order effective Saturday, March 21 at 5:00PM through April 7, 2020. The Stay at Home order is an opportunity for us all to do our part to protect the people on the front lines of this fight and the people most vulnerable to this virus. By staying home, you will be keeping the virus from spreading and you’ll be helping the heroes who live and work in OUR communities.

Social Distancing is the same as Physical Distancing. Please comply with these orders.

Public information is a priority at EHD. EHD continues to partner with our local healthcare providers, provide education and monitoring of the situation. This situation changes rapidly. We will remain transparent and keep our local communities up-to-date.

Please follow Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), CDC, and the Illinois Coronavirus Website for guidance.
