The Alberta Firearms Advisory Committee has a mandate to hear the concerns about the federal government’s legislation from stakeholders in Alberta. The Committee was established to examine the impact of federal firearms legislation on gun owners in Alberta and consider how provincial policies can best meet the needs of Albertans. The committee is to provide recommendations on how provincial policies can best support law-abiding gun owners while keeping Albertans safe, and submit the report to the minister of Justice and Solicitor General in anticipation of further changes to federal firearms legislation.
