Annual Meeting to focus on 'Addressing Operator Needs in 2019'

Dear Members,

Given the political noise of the past year, it has become clear to our Executive Board and I that our focus for 2019 IPANM Annual Meeting should cut through the clutter to simply face the nuts and bolts issues facing independents this year. Thus, we've made 'Addressing Operator Needs in 2019' our theme for this year's gathering.

We plan to offer substantive information and relevant conversations on our issues. Our Keynote Speakers will offer insight into the importance of Oil & Gas communication and new media. We will have experts who will discuss oil & gas market trends, the important roles of various industry trade associations, new approaches to produced water, and a deep dive into what's on the horizon with a new methane rule. We will also hear directly from our regulators, including federal policymakers, key state legislators, the state land commissioner and the state's energy and environment secretaries. In short, this year's Annual Meeting will offer high-value for our attendees. But, there's more...

The Independent's Quarterly Update Section on current topics

In 2007, “surge” was the headline word for the top oil-producing region of the world—an attempt to bring stability to war-torn Iraq. In 2019, what’s old is new again, and “surge” is again the word of the day in the new king of oil—the Permian Basin.  With the return of the majors to the Permian and the adoption of manufacturing models of oil production, the majors have promised a surge in production.

With spring here, it seems like we’ve gone from one extreme to another.  The four corners region had a very good winter in terms of precipitation and snowpack. Last summer we had very low flow conditions on the Animas River while this year we are preparing for flooding. Besides making conditions in the field difficult, the snow and rain this winter season have been welcomed and appreciated.

Trade Association Roundtable at Annual Meeting to show unity
Dear Members,

One of my mandates from IPANM's Board of Directors is to form alliances with industry partners, and to create alliances with groups who share similar positions on important issues.

To accomplish this, IPANM has worked to increase communication and strategize with fellow associations like Western Energy Alliance (WEA), the Independent Petroleum Association of America (IPAA),  the New Mexico Landmen's Association (NMLA), the New Mexico Oil & Gas Association (NMOGA) and the Permian Basin Petroleum Association (PBPA).  We've also engaged with state and local business and economic development groups including New Mexico Business Coalition, Economic Development Corporation of Lea County,
Carlsbad Department of Development, Greater Artesia Economic Development Corporation, the Four Corners Economic Development, and the New Mexico Association of Commerce & Industry.

By no coincidence, we expect the upcoming IPANM Annual Meeting will feature an increased presence of association leaders and members. We are honored to have Kathleen Sgamma, Executive Director of Western Energy Alliance, deliver our July 26 Friday morning address. She will then join a special Industry Trade Association Roundtable following her address. It is my hope that our various discussions will continue to unite our industry during a critical time.

Please join me in welcoming and taking time to talk with many of these association directors and board members at our meeting in July!
Thank you all for your ongoing support of IPANM.

New Tools on IPANM Website Paying Off

A few weeks ago, IPANM asked our website vendor, Siarza Social Digital, to provide us with an update on web traffic since we launched our new website in January. As of the end of April 2019, IPANM's traffic, compared to this time last year, has "increased tremendously" and the new site is easily "on pace for beating last year's numbers." IPANM is currently reviewing the analytics and will report numbers during our Annual Meeting in July.

As for trends, IPANM's public newsroom
and our exclusive members-only newsroom are two of our most visited areas. This affirms our time and efforts this past spring to provide fresh content to update our members on important and relevant information. We will continue to work hard to keep this information timely and informative. Help us drive traffic to these particular pages, and help us promote our exclusive members-only access to our entire site as selling points for new members. We are extremely proud to offer these value-added benefits to our members.

Finally, as we've seen in past years, our Annual Meeting page garners a LOT of traffic this time of the year. This gives tremendous value to our sponsors, as their company logos are posted immediately upon commitment. Thank you all for using our most public-facing operational, promotional and informational tool:!
