J-Cup J/109 Entries and Format

Dear all,

Key Yachting are seeking input from the classes ahead of the J-Cup on likely entries and format for the event to ensure we honour Paul’s legacy by making it a fantastic regatta.

I am currently seeing only Jago and Jiraffe entered, so please can you let me know of your intention to participate so we can get an idea of numbers and ensure we secure our usual class start.

In the past we’ve focused J-Cup on a packed series of windward/leeward courses. I’m happy to repeat this format, leaving Cowes Week to deliver round the cans class racing. But the J92’s (expecting 10 entries this year) have requested a mix of windward/leeward and orienteering around the cans. Let me know your preferences and I will reflect.

We’ll be applying the new class rules, so make sure to consult the table below and decide on which of the first two columns you will adopt.

Finally, Hamble is always a challenge on the social side as everyone is tempted to go home after sailing. This year Jiraffe will be staying on site and we’re starting to plan a dock party, then of course we have the AGM. So please plan to join in the social as much as you can.
