Join Us for a Madrone Walk on 12/18

Point Defiance Park in Tacoma, WA

Join Tacoma Tree Foundation and Arbutus ARME for a tree walk highlighting one of Tacoma’s most accessible and unique forests. The group plans to walk a flat route of 2 miles along the western bluff side trails of Pt. Defiance. We launch our adventure from the Fort Nisqually Living History Museum off 5-Mile Drive at 10:00 am.

Explore the Narrows’ side of the park with fresh eyes while we learn about the distinctive madrone trees and their allied understory. We will search for the tallest sinuous trees, peeling bark, ripe berries and other gifts of this arboreal cultural icon.
