Hello friends and colleagues,

Thank you for being a part of Cordelia Anderson Consulting in 2019. I can hardly believe it's 2020, and yet here we are!

A new year is always an opportunity for fresh perspective and fresh goals. This year, I look forward to continuing to work with my existing clients to help them reach their goals. I also plan to do more consulting work, while continuing to take more professional speaking engagements. Nothing is more fun and inspiring to me than speaking to a group of engaged professionals who are passionate about their work. Here's to more of that in 2020!

This year I will also see the publication of my book with ALA Editions. This will mark a huge milestone for me personally, and for Cordelia Anderson Consulting.

What are your goals and ambitions for 2020? I'd love to hear from you. Drop me a line at cordelia@cordeliaandersonapr.com

Sincerely,

Cordelia Anderson, APR

Speaking of goals, why not set a goal to apply for and win an award this year?

No matter what role or industry you work in, there are opportunities for you to receive accolades - and even cash prizes - for your hard work.

Even if you are personally very humble, winning awards can benefit your organization and strengthen its brand. So start planning today by asking yourself these questions:

What are the top awards in my industry? (Ex: Government, Library, Education, Nonprofit, etc.)

What are the top awards in my profession? (Ex: Marketing, PR, Digital Media, Social Media, etc.)

What award would provide the most benefit and prestige to my organization?

What projects am I working on that would make good award entries?

After asking yourself these questions, make a list of awards you would like to apply for - including deadlines, requirements, fees (if any) and how to apply.

When you're ready to begin assembling your entry, check out these Tips for Writing a Good Award Entry on my blog.

Good luck, and be sure to share the good news with me when you win!

Podcast Interview

Check out my interview, "Library Marketing With Cordelia Anderson," on the Public Libraries Podcast from the Public Library Association. We talk about the relevancy challenges facing libraries as well as different strategies and tactics that libraries can use to market themselves. We'll also cover the library "marketing funnel" and how libraries can remove internal customer barriers to increase usage and engagement.

New Client Announcement

I will be delivering the keynote address at the Glen Ellyn Public Library's Staff In-Service Day this April. The topic will be Taking a Strategic Approach to Marketing & Communications. I am very excited to meet the staff of this library system and learn about the great things they are doing.
