What to do in Ostrava?

Festival days in Barrák Music club

Barrák Music Hrad is a series of 20 festival days. You can see live concerts, theatre and other performances. The project was created in response to the coronavirus situation in 2020.

Mining express trains

Go to explore the Ostrava-Karviná coal district by a historic motor train! Mining express trains, aka Sakmarovské rychlíky, will run on the historic Báňská and Košicko-Bohumínská railways. They every Saturday until 19th September.

Beats for Love

RESTRICTION AND VACCINATION:

RESTRICTION EASING VALID FROM 26th JUNE

Since the COVID-19 numbers in Czechia have been steadily declining, the government has decided to ease more restrictions earlier than originally expected.

From 26 June:

Indoor cultural events will be able to accept up to 2 000 guests
Outdoor events will be able to accept up to 5 000 guests
Cinemas, theatres and other venues will fill up to 75% of capacity and will be once again allowed to sell drinks and snacks
Guided tours (e.g. castles) will no longer be restricted under the condition of vaccination, getting a test, or having gone through COVID-19 in the last 180 days
Museums and galleries will be able to accept 1 visitor per 10 m2

VACCINATION FOR SELF-PAYERS

From 11 June, registration for vaccination was launched for people who do not have public health insurance in the Czech Republic or the European Union and are long-term residents of the Czech Republic. Foreigners living in the Czech Republic for a long time, for example, will also be able to register.
