We had an amazing time during our last Women Club meeting! We welcomed new ladies into our group which is always nice! Then, Elena taught us how to use black inks and even those who have never painted anything before were able to create something! It was really fun!

Ostrava's Swing Summer continuous with a series of many concerts and dancing events! August and September will be full of Swing. Lecturers from Jazz Monkeys are comfortable with English. Be a part of it!

Černý kůň (Black horse) opening

The new street food market Černý kůň in Ostrava will open its gate for the first time at the beginning of August. There will be food, drink and they will come up with something else. Come in and have fun!

You may know that Spolek Elegant in cooperation with Ostrava Expat Centre brings us project To the Saddles – guided rides through the history, culture and nature of Ostrava. COVID-19 NEWS

RESTRICTION EASING VALID FROM 1st AUGUST

There can be up to 7,000 people outside and 3,000 inside at a cultural event – all of them have to be tested, vaccinated or go through COVID-19 in the last 180 days
Standing audiences are obliged to maintain a distance of 2 metres (this has gone down from 4 metres)

You can now dance in clubs and other establishments if you prove your non-infectious status. Your test cannot be older than 24 hours

There are no limits on the capacity in pools (there used to be a limit of 75%) – but only for those who have been vaccinated, sick with COVID-19 in the last 180 days or tested
No need to prove your non-infectious status in ZOOs and in other places with guided tours of up to 20 people
Indoor exhibitions and galleries can choose whether they want to fill their capacity based on square meters or up to 75%
There are now no limits on the number of athletes preparing for a game/match

How to Handle Changes in the Immigration Law?

A new amendment valid from 2 August brings several changes to the immigration law and is a little bit confusing and complicates life not only for Expats but also for Czech people who married foreigners and for EU citizens.

These changes include for example the obligation to purchase comprehensive health insurance, changes in administration fees, long-term residence for the purpose of study, conditions for issuing employment cards for the purposes of agency employment, the renaming of a residence permit document for EU citizens, or new identification documents for third-country citizens containing biometric data.
