August 2019 Newsletter
Hi, friends!
Wow, this summer is flying by! I can't believe it's time for another newsletter (albeit it's a little late).
I had an incredible time working as a teaching assistant at Interlochen Arts Camp. The experience helped me grow as an educator, leader, and learner. I have made many of my teaching resources available on my website.
I am really excited to share that I will be having my first gig as a bandleader in Boston (Cambridge, technically) on Monday, August 19 8 pm at Outpost 186. I am looking forward to making music with my friends and sharing new compositions and arrangements. See the Facebook event for more information.
I am also gearing up to start my first semester at New England Conservatory, where I will be pursuing a Master of Music in Jazz Performance. I am thrilled to be entering the program for its 50th anniversary! NEC was the first school to offer an accredited collegiate jazz program, founded by the legendary horn player/composer/conductor/educator/historian Gunther Schuller.
I have some exciting upcoming announcements and other projects that I look forward to sharing very soon...
Wishing you a sunny, safe, superb rest of the summer!
Sam
