  • Governor Andy Beshear visited the Lincoln Trail Region in June.
Governor Beshear visited Heaven Hill Distillery to celebrate the grand opening of the new Heaven Hill Bourbon Experience in Bardstown, Nelson County. The Heaven Hill Distillery project represents a $19 million investment in Kentucky's signature bourbon and tourism industries. Governor Beshear attended the ribbon cutting hosted by the Addiction Recovery Center (ARC) for its newest residential treatment center, Crown Recovery Center located in Springfield, Washington County.   • Great news for locals and traveling tourists to the region....The General George Patton Museum at Fort Knox reopened its U.S. 31W entrance to the public on June 14, during celebrations for the U.S. Army’s 246th birthday. Click HERE for local press coverage.

June Board Meeting
The Lincoln Trail ADD Board of Directors met at The Historic State Theater, WesBanco Gallery in Elizabethtown for their June Board meeting. It was the first in-person meeting after a year of conducting business virtually.

"Aging Trivia"
New Seniors have been added to each program on nearly a daily basis. LTADD has removed all Seniors from the wait list. Meade County Meal recipients have been offered additional vouchers to assist them during this difficult time. If you know of a Senior needing assistance, please have them contact 270-737-6082.

  • The Lincoln Trail Workforce Development Board has selected a new one stop operator:  partnership between Hightower Workforce Initiatives, LLC and Strumpf Associates:  Center for Change.  This partnership brings over 70 years experience in public policy and planning.  
     
  • SAVE THE DATE! - The Workforce Crisis Task Force Summit will be Wednesday, August 11th from 9 am - 1 pm (ET) at Elizabethtown Community and Technical College. 
     
  • The Elizabethtown Community and Technical College's Greater Knox Coding Academy just graduated its second cohort of programmers and coders. The program was implemented in early 2020 to support the critical IT coding shortage needs at Fort Knox. The Lincoln Trail Workforce Development Board administered a Statewide Reserve Grant to assist with the initial start up costs of establishing the lab and piloting the first cohort. Eligible individuals may qualify for a portion of the training costs through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) program.  Click HERE for article link.

COUNTIES & CITIES:
The Notice of Funds Available (NOFA) for Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP) funding has been released by the state. The process for applying for this opportunity and securing funding is an extended procedure. To get started and be considered for funding, your community's Mitigation Actions Forms (MAF) must be submitted in the Community Hazard Assessment and Mitigation Planning System (CHAMPS) by Friday, July 16, 2021. CHAMPS can be accessed HERE

GRANT OPPORTUNITIES
The Department for Local Government (DLG) announced the 2021 application cycle for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program is now open. The grant period for Community Projects and Public Facilities projects will be April 1, 2021 – September 1, 2021.  The application window for Economic Development, Housing, CERF, and Public Services will be April 1, 2021 – January 31, 2022. Availability of Hazard Mitigation Grant Program Funds have been released by the state. This funding is available as a result of the disaster declarations made earlier this year across the state. See more information above in the Hazard Mitigation section.
