Merry Christmas, Feliz Navidad, Happy Hanukkah, …Seasons Greetings!

It’s difficult to believe it’s already Christmas, and days away from 2021! The Vancouver real estate market continues to depart from tradition and remains very strong as we tie a bow on December. In most neighbourhoods it’s becoming clear that supply remains an issue - simply not enough properties available for sale. Multiple offers are still occurring and properties that had been on the market for longer periods of time are now seeing offers and sales come their way in time for Christmas. At the mid-point in November there were 724 properties available for sale in North Vancouver. There are now 504 and that number is dropping quickly. For those holding off on listing their homes until the New Year, the conditions should continue to remain favourable in the early weeks of 2021 as most neighbourhoods will continue to be strong Seller’s Markets. We hope you all have a chance to rest, reflect, celebrate and recover this festive season. We wish that you can safely reconnect with friends and family whether it’s in your bubbles, from 6ft, the sidewalk, or a video call and create some new and unique memories over the holidays.

This year we weren’t able to do the annual toy drive, or photos with Santa. So the Owl Elves & ASK Niki Mortgages brought our real estate photographer @kelseytoevsphotography to take photos from a safe distance of some very generous families in Pemberton Heights. Together we raised over $4,000 for Family Services of The North Shore and we had a ton of fun. Thank you to everyone who donated, participated and helped out.

Housing Market

Traditionally as we toboggan in to the holiday season we find the housing market cools off. This, being an unconventional year to say the absolute least, we’re not experiencing that right now. This holiday season people aren’t travelling, partying, visiting and celebrating like they traditionally do. We’re not exhausted from the holiday scramble. By and large this has kept the market momentum and we predict it to sustain, if not roll through in to the spring market.
