Communion: No US vs. THEM at Christ’s table
The act of communion is a personally sacred way of connecting with our savior; it’s also a profound act of community. In the United Church of Christ, we proclaim that Christ’s love is big enough for everyone, no exceptions. And by practicing communion, we are practicing love. We love our neighbor by sharing a common meal with a shared purpose: to become the body of Christ. Communion tangibly connects us, every blessed one of us, to whom we belong. There is no us vs. them at Christ’s table, and that sense of belonging informs the way we move through life and interact with others.
Join this act of radical hospitality and spiritual connection this Sunday at 10am! Children will be dismissed for Sunday School and Bell Choir following Faith Lab.

Confirmation and Messy Church Begin in October
Confirmation orientation meeting for parents & students Sept. 29 at 7pm. We’ll discuss the expectations, general timeline, selecting a mentor, and answer any questions. If you are interested and willing to serve as a mentor for a confirmand, let Pastor Emily know soon!
Messy Church is set to BEGIN AGAIN Wed. Oct. 6th at 5:30pm. We’ll make great use of our newly renovated fellowship hall. Our October theme is Harvest
The Apostle Paul says, I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow. So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow. The one who plants and the one who waters have one purpose, and they will each be rewarded according to their own labor. -1 Corinthians 3: 6-8
Thank you for the gift of meals
THANK YOU for the tremendous show of support w/ freezer meals last week. A meal shared is a (yummy) form of communion as the body of Christ. This is church at its best, showing up for each other in a moment of need.
Painting Party Success
Thank you Thank you Thank you to this crew who rolled, brushed, wiped, and sanded their way to a shiny new look downstairs! We are close to completing the downstairs renovation, with flooring due to be installed next week.
Stay tuned for our dedication Sunday plans, when we’ll celebrate the Wosepka’s gift during the worship AND downstairs in our brand new space.
Kate Nelson is a Nurse!
Congrats to Kate as she began her first full week as a nurse at Avera! Kate has pursued a courageous career shift and we are thrilled to celebrate her new journey caring for folks in a variety of settings at the clinic as an LPN.
We Love Special Music- Add Your Voice!
Frank & Shirley Halligan blessed our worship last Sunday, and we’re inviting anyone who’d like to add their voice to be in touch with Pastor Emily or Larry Lyngstad about getting involved in our music program! Special music, duets, choir ensembles, instrument and voice alike are welcome!
