Youth Fund “We have a Say”!

The overall objective of the Youth Fund “We Have a Say” is the improvement and development of the participatory policies and enhancement of local democracy in communities of the Western Balkans through support to local youth organisations fostering active citizenship and participation of young people at the local level. The total funds of the Youth Fund amounts 78.000,00 EUR. A total of 64 applications were received, and the evaluation team selected 14 best projects.

Motivate, Activate, Participate!

The project will be implemented in Capital City Podgorica over six months. Overall objective of the project is: Higher level of youth activism in Montenegro and a higher degree of their involvement in the processes of decision making; while specific objectives are: Increased level of knowledge of young people about participative democracy and ways of participation in local community; and Young people are motivated to advocate for changes in their society. Direct target group are 20 young people aged 15-24. Expected results: 20 young people increased knowledge and capacities for participation at local level, Increased level of positive changes in community conducted by young people and Youth in Montenegro informed about mechanisms for participation and civic activism. Main activities: Positive Change Box in High Schools and Faculties; Workshop for Youth on Participation Mechanisms and Civic Activism, Councilor in Local Parliament for a day, Video contest for youth on civic activism, Handbook for Youth on Mechanisms for Participation on Local Level. Brus and youth

With the realization of two-day workshops by expert lecturers, we will deal with the involvement of young people on the local level, also with excercise of democratic rights through realization of youth politics, and their needs and possibilities for active participation in society and possibilities for their employment. After the realization of workshops, we will talk together with younge people and leaders of Brus municipality about the making of platform which will be important and significant for the issues of young people on the local level. Young2democracy

The project is aimed at encouraging rural youth to actively participate in the life of their place, to cooperate with local institutions and CSOs and to actively participate in local decision-making process. The project will influence the strengthening of existing mechanisms for their involvement in local work, as well as the capacity building of municipal officers to work with youth from rural areas. Research will be conducted on the topic of political participation and civic activism of youth from villages in the vicinity of Nis, and an analysis will be made of the current status and effectiveness of youth action in local level structures. The results of the research and recommendations will be disseminated through information panels to local authorities, schools, youth organizations and youth in order to enhance youth activism and develop a culture of youth participation in local decision-making processes. Voices of youth make the decisions

The latest developments in politics, increasing youth unemployment, increasing lack of values have led to political lethargy and apathy. Low wages and bad standard of life has led many young people project their future in western European countries. Activities foresee building capacities of the delegates of Local Youth Council of the Municipality of Tetovo, trainings on leadership, public speaking and debate, project cycle management, Europeanas well as producing and publishing of two guidebooks about European values and Active citizenship. Singing Together – Youth Voices

The project will address the problems of social exclusion of youth at risk, and the lack of youth participation among this vulnerable group. The overall objective of the project is to contribute to social inclusion and youth participation of youth at risk. Specific objectives of the project are: To strengthen the capacities of youth at risk for youth participation, through innovative approach based on peer learning and music; and to raise awareness of interested and general public about the situation, challenges and needs of youth at risk. Opinion Poll on Budget Priorities of Youth
The project is implemented in the municipality of Vrnjacka Banja, Serbia during a 6 month duration period. In order to activate youth in the local community, the project organizes and conducts a Citizens' Opinion Survey on Budget Priorities, which includes the participation 2500 people – all students from the two high schools in Vrnjacka Banja, citizens, and employees of local institutions. Conducting of awareness building activities for youth, to increase their knowledge on how the LSG functions and interest them in active participation in decision making processes at the local level which will enable youth, as well as other members of the community through the youth, to express their views and priorities. Survey results will be used as input for the LSG in the drafting of the local budgets and allocation of municipal funds. Read more!

First steps towards Youth Centered Leskovac

The project idea is to implement two researches that will map the youth programs and resources (free and paid) available to young people in Leskovac. Something like this was never before implemented. Also there will be realized research on the needs of young people in the local community (using survey and focus groups). The project team will analyse and cross-match the results of both researches, and organize a round table with decision makers from local municipality, local youth office, representatives of institutions and NGOs, and most importantly, young people willing to take active part in youth programs, as a first step towards structured dialogue between young people and decision makers in Leskovac. Monumental 9 is a regional tourism development and promotion project presenting the rich cultural heritage of the WW2 monuments in the Western Balkan countries.

Regenerating heritage: new life for abandoned industrial, religious, military and public buildings

The wrap-up conference of the project “Cultural heritage Linking diversities in Europe – CLINK” took place as virtual gathering organized by LDA Mostar.  The event was attended by representatives of the project partners, cultural workers, representatives of cultural institutions and association. More than 95 participants discussed the results of the project implementation and exchanged their views on the topic “Regenerating heritage: new life for abandoned industrial, religious, military and public buildings”.
