Reminders from the Office...

End of Day Transportation Changes
Changes in transportation can be disruptive for classrooms and often difficult for children when their plan changes without advanced notice. If changes must be made, please contact the office at 952-955-0300, as well as, your child's teacher. Please note: Transportation changes must be made by 10:00 am.

Attendance Procedures
Illness/Appointment/etc. - Parents are expected to report their child's absence by calling the ES Attendance phone line at 952-955-0321 or by emailing esattendance@wm.k12.mn.us. Please note that informing your child's teacher is not sufficient notification - the office must be notified.

Students who arrive at school up to 10 minutes beyond the 8:10 am start time will be considered tardy. Students arriving more than 10 minutes late will be considered absent for ½ day.

Vacation/Family Event - If your child will be absent for a family activity, please complete an Excused Absence Form at least one week before the scheduled absence. This form can be found on the elementary website under the forms tab or in the ES office.

Please see the Student-Parent Handbook for attendance policies.
Early voting begins on September 20 for the upcoming November 5 two-question referendum for the Watertown-Mayer School District. Thank you to those who attended our referendum open house meeting on September 16. Don’t miss the next two meetings coming up on October 1 and 14. Find meeting information on the referendum website.

Absentee and early voting runs from September 20 to November 4, and ballots can be requested by any registered voter for any reason. Early voting is held on regular student days from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Watertown-Mayer District Office. The office will also be open for early voting on September 27, October 15, and October 24 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Mrs. Meyer's Must Knows

The Minnesota Department of Revenue has two tax relief programs for families with children in kindergarten through 12th grade: the K-12 Education Subtraction and the K-12 Education Credit. Both programs help lower taxes and may provide a larger refund when you file.

To qualify for either program, both of the following must be true:

  • You have a “qualifying child” attending kindergarten through 12th grade at a public, private or a qualified home school.
  • You paid “qualified education expenses” during the year for that child’s education.
