Program Change for March 12
Hopewell rising stars
Jillian Ashcraft & Jimmy Waltman
with Dan Kostelnick organ, Rob Henderson drums, Phil Orr piano
Jazz On Broad is bursting with pride to host Hopewell's new generation of jazz leaders to the stage as headliners for the first time! Jillian Ashcraft and Jimmy Waltman, who've previously displayed their vocal chops at the Bistro in third set Sitting In, both came through Hopewell Valley High School's Vox Central Jazz under Randy White, and now pursue music degrees at Temple and Princeton Universities respectively. Jillian has appeared for several years as featured singer with the Midnight Sun Orchestra, now in its 20th year of residency at Havana, New Hope, and was recently featured at the Rite of Swing Jazz Café at Temple Performing Arts Center. Jimmy did a course of study with noted vocal jazz pedagogue Tim Brent at Westminster Choir College, and currently studies with Dr. Trineice Robinson-Martin, performing in her Jazz Vocal Collective at Princeton as well. Let's give a warm welcome to these cool, talented, aspiring homies!
Audrey Welber, originally scheduled to perform this week, had a conflict develop that's made it necessary to postpone to a later date, June 25. We appreciate the contributions tonight of her trio mates, Dan Kostelnick and Rob Henderson
