Thursday, December 5
It was December 5, 1933 when the Constitution's amendment prohibiting intoxicating liquors was officially repealed, proving again that Government of, by, and for the people can get us out of pickles so we can pickle ourselves. 1933, the year that brought us The Lone Ranger, the New Deal, and Krispy Kreme donuts, also brought us Lover, It's Only a Paper Moon, and Smoke Gets in Your Eyes. Richard Barnes and the stylish Blackbird Society Orchestra bring these and more to life with authentic, period arrangements by the Paul Whiteman Band and others. Bring your date, bring some hachacha, bring both.
