MARTY GROSZ 90TH BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION with Danny Tobias, Scott Robinson, and Gary Cattley
Guitarist, vocalist, and jazz historian Marty Grosz recorded his first date in 1950 with Dick Wellstood on piano and veteran NOLA bassist, Pops Foster. Since then, he's led or been featured on dozens of recordings. A virtuoso of the acoustic archtop guitar with a vocal style in the Fats Waller mold, his music and performing are time capsules of the 1920s–'30s. Marty has had guest spots on Prairie Home Companion, Fresh Air with Terry Gross, and the Today Show, and his terrific autobiography full of Who's Who dates and places is coming out in March. Come say 'Hello' and have some cake!
