Brother <<First Name>>
Hurricane Ida has come and gone, leaving much devastation in her wake. This is the time for our Fraternity to show our resiliency, and our commitment to our Craft and our fellowman. Lafourche, Terrebonne, and St. Charles parishes were severely punished by the storm. These parishes and the city of New Orleans are still without electrical power as of this writing.
The following distribution centers have been setup for the damaged areas:
Acacia Shrine Temple
7991 Commerce Ave.
Baton Rouge, LA
1940 Ormand Blvd.
Terrebonne Fellowship Lodge
210 Oakview Dr.
Many have already stepped up to help, including our appendant bodies and local lodges. I hesitate to name them for fear of failing to identify every group and individual that has contributed so far. Simply stated, the desire to help and the help already sent is heartwarming and makes me even more proud to be a Freemason.
Much is needed and the following is a non-exclusive list:
4x8 sheets of plywood
Nails and fasteners
Cleaning supplies of every sort (including bleach, mops, buckets, brooms and brushes)
Write us a letter*. Tell us how you're doing as lodges begin to meet once again. Tell us what is is like to be meeting again. Send us a photo or two, or anything else you'd like to submit to The Louisiana Freemason!
Email email@example.com and "Send a letter to the Editor" just like the old days. Submissions will be considered for an issue of the Weekly eEdition so the brethren can see what you're up to.
*The Editor reserves all rights to publish any letter sent to him.
