Solve-Along-A-Murder-She-Wrote
April/May 2020 Newsletter

We're still in isolation here in Cabot Covid. We're unable to really confirm any upcoming dates right now - but like a clever thought in Sheriff Tupper's head, this too will pass. In the meantime, enjoy some fun online content and keep those JB paddles ready. We'll be back before you know it.

NEW CABOT COVE QUIZ
Remember: hands on your head for True, hands on your hips for False. See how long you last in our second Cabot Cove Quiz.
EPIPHANIES FOREVER!
It wouldn't be Solve-Along-A-Murder-She-Wrote without an explosive epiphany, so to help tide you over until the next show, here's the marvellous collection of epiphanies on Vimeo, edited by another bonkers fan Isaac Royffe.
UPCOMING SHOWS
Solve-Along-A-Murder-She-Wrote will return! Licensing restrictions means an online version isn't possible I'm afraid, but we have shows planned from now until the end of the year across the UK. Where and when we start again is of course another mystery. But while we wait, please support the lovely venues that host the show, whether via likes or tweets or if you can afford it, a donation. Keep an eye here for all live updates.

THE ORIGINS OF MURDER, SHE WROTE
For trivia buffs among you (and what Fangela doesn't love a juicy titbit!), check out this lovely interview with Dame Angela Lansbury on the beginnings of Murder, She Wrote and why she took the leap to play JB Fletcher. It's fascinating to hear Dame Angela's first thoughts and opinion of Jessica (and to be reminded that they aren't the same person!).

MURDER, SHE WROTE AT HOME
Believe it or not, Murder, She Wrote can also be enjoyed on television! It's on Sony Entertainment Television Monday to Friday at 4 and 5pm, and then all day Sunday. It's also on 5USA all day Saturday (and weirdly at 9:25am Monday to Friday).
JESSICA ON THE CASEBOOK
A late edition to the Solve-Along library, this rarity lists every episode (but not the four telemovies) and has a terrific set of essays on the history of the show and Angela's career. Of course nothing in this book was news to ME, but if you can find a copy online it's a load of fun.

VINTAGE LANSBURY
Don't forget that Dame Angela Lansbury was an accomplished character actress before taking on a role that was unusual for her - a woman with a similar temperament. For something completely different check out her Oscar-nominated turn as an obsessed mother of a fledgling politician in The Manchurian Candidate (1962), which is on Amazon Prime. (Avoid the one with Meryl and Denzel. They're both fabulous, but the film is bobbins). See you again soon fangelas - I miss you.
