The Brooklyn Bus Network Redesign
The Brooklyn Bus Network Redesign is New York City Transit’s plan to improve bus travel for Brooklyn riders.
The Draft Plan, released on December 1, 2022, reimagines the current Brooklyn bus network. While the Draft Plan preserves much of the existing bus network, it also includes many proposals aimed at improving the network by simplifying it, straightening routes, creating new connections, strengthening interborough service, adjusting frequencies, and reviewing the distance between bus stops.
Beginning in January 2023, the MTA will host public events and workshops to gather additional input from customers and Brooklyn residents. This invaluable input will inform and shape the Proposed Final Plan. This process is laid out more fully in the report.
Sign up here to participate in the upcoming workshop for our Community District 14 that will be held online via Zoom on February 23, 2023 at 6:30 PM and 7:30 PM.

Quality of Life INNOVATIONS program for students in grades 9-12
QLI is an applied learning, civic engagement program and scholarship competition for students in grades 9-12. Students select a pressing real-world issue, conduct research on the issue, consult with experts, and develop and implement feasible proposals for change. The program culminates with students submitting their college-level research paper for judging. Awards and scholarships are awarded to top proposals. Through the experience, students gain soft skills (critical thinking, teamwork, public speaking, college-level research), which are key to undergraduate and workforce success. The program is currently being offered as an afterschool program at James Madison High School. Students from all local high schools are invited to attend. The "W!se Club" meets on Fridays after school and two Saturday mornings a month.
