HELPING IN TENTERDEN

Helping Tenterden through the Coronavirus crisis
  • Can you help?
  • Do you need help?
A number of groups in the town are now working together to formulate a safe and secure service for all people in the community who require assistance. We are working together under the name "Helping in Tenterden" and groups that have come onboard so far are St Mildreds Church, Tenterden Town Council, Tenterden Social Hub, Tenterden Community Hub, and My Tenterden. Other groups are welcome to join us. We are planning to give details of how the system will work on Monday and hope to have a "helpers" telephone hotline ready to go live on Monday or at the latest Tuesday. www.facebook.com/groups/helpingintenterden

We will be asking volunteers to come forward to help their immediate neighbours; many of you already are. We need to understand what is going on so that no-one is forgotten and everyone is protected and helped. We would like two groups of volunteers: those on the full volunteer list who are fit, healthy and under 70, and those aged 70 and above who would like to go on the restricted volunteer list who would be willing to work from home (this group would also include the under 70s who have pre-existing medical conditions).

IVY COURT SURGERY

We want to keep Ivy Court Surgery running as effectively as we can through the Coronavirus crisis. Here are five ways that YOU can help us
Ivy Court Surgery Tenterden
  1. DO NOT CALL THE SURGERY
Unless it is necessary to do so
  2. BE PATIENT
We are implementing a radical set of changes to our ways of working at extremely high speed to protect all our patients, especially the elderly and the vulnerable. Please bear with us.
  3. PRE-BOOKED APPOINTMENTS
If you have booked a face to face GP appointment in the last few weeks, this will now be a phone or video consultation. Please call the surgery to confirm you are aware of this change; it helps our appointment planning.
  4. CONSULT OUR FACEBOOK PAGE REGULARLY
Like our Facebook page & share it with others. Encourage others to do the same. It is the fastest route for getting new information out to you www.facebook.com/IvyCourtSurgery
  5. DOWNLOAD THE WHEREBY APP NOW
It is vital that we see as few patients face to face at present to reduce infection risks. It is very likely your consultation will be phone or video based.  Please download the Whereby app on your smartphone now. Most phones don't need the app to be downloaded for video consultations to work, but some do, so just in case. Please make sure elderly/isolated relatives have a smartphone available so we can do video consultations with them

  • Tesco Tenterden. The shop opens as normal at 8am, on Monday, Wednesday & Friday mornings between 9-10am the store is open to only vulnerable and elderly customers. Please respect this new rule to help stop the spread of infection to older people. Also with immediate effect no more than 3 of any one item is being enforced.
  • Waitrose Tenterden. New opening hours: Mon-Sat 7.30am-6pm, Sunday 10am-4pm.
