Have your Say - Kent County Council

A28 Ashford Road, St Michaels, Tenterden - Proposed Signal Controlled Pedestrian Crossing
Consultation closes on 15 March 2021

"We are seeking your views on a proposal to install a new signalised pedestrian crossing on the A28 Ashford Road outside Spires assisted living residential premises. This crossing will replace the current non-signalised pedestrian crossing, which does not provide adequate crossing facilities, particularly for vulnerable and mobility impaired users. A new signal-controlled crossing will give pedestrians sufficient time to cross the road safely whilst traffic is held and will be designed to meet national standards."

Tenterden High Street third in Country

According to the Harper Dennis Hobbs Vitality Index Feb 2021, Tenterden has been ranked the third most vibrant high street/retail area in the country. The results show that towns like Tenterden have outperformed city centre destinations with consumer shopping habits becoming very localised due to the Covid-19 pandemic. This major survey shows the changing face of the high street! Read the report >>> here

ABS Blinds and Curtains

Here's a sneak preview of the new ABS Blinds & Curtains showroom, Ashford Road, Tenterden. Sam (owner) says they hope to move from the Fairings to the new Ashford Road shop sometime in March but there's quite a lot more work to do yet. This will be the largest showroom for miles around and will definitely be one of Tenterden's destination shops.
