Christmas Bargains for £10 or less

Tenterden Town Station Gift Shop
Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th December

Following the cancellation of the Santa Specials trains the Kent & East Sussex Railway are selling their stock of presents to local residents at bargain prices to help provide affordable presents for children aged 0-12 years.

There are a wide range of gifts for sale including brands such as Star Wars, Crayola, Paddington Bear, Science4u and MegaBlocks. The gift shop will be open at Tenterden Station from 10am til 3pm on Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th December.

There is a one way system in place and customers should enter the shop via the platform and are kindly asked to wear face coverings as per the current legal requirements. A variety of other Railway gifts are also available to purchase as Christmas presents. We are sharing this in the local community only, to avoid people travelling to the area and increasing the risk to us all.

Thank you so much for supporting your local heritage railway!

Friends of St Mildreds

Friends of St Mildreds Church
Friends of St Mildreds Church
Photo: Jeremy Cooper, from the Friends of St Mildreds, handing over a cheque for £36,000 to Canon Lindsay Hammond, Rector of St Mildred’s Church, Tenterden.

The money will be used by the Church to help with the cost of cleaning and restoring a number of the church’s beautiful stained glass windows, including re-enforcing the external stonework around the casings, and improving the lightning conduction on the tower of the church.

Jeremy Cooper, Chair of the Friends charity explained: “Since its creation in 2014, the charity has raised over £100,000 to help with the upkeep of this magnificent church. Mostly from social, musical and cultural events”. If you want to get involved and/or become a "Friend" please contact Membership Secretary Caroline Salmon, 07772 890329 or by email
