Quote of the week:
'Wouldn't it be great if the army had to have a bake sale to buy bullets and schools had all the budget they need to teach children?'
Great work this week in spite of the wild weather. Lovely to see so many children wearing red in support of Comic Relief (see Iva's report below for some good info on this). Please make sure you have a slot for your parent/carer meeting next week (Tuesday 3.30-6pm; Wednesday 1.30-6pm). This year all consultations will be in the hall. You should have also received the Mid-Year Report.
Have a good weekend.

Eco Science Committee Report
Good afternoon Ashburnham. We hope everyone has had a great week. It's been a great week for Science at Ashburnham, with a huge collection of new and exciting books arriving for all year groups. These books have been funded by the Ogden Trust and we are looking forward to reading all of them!
Did you know that we produce and use twenty times more plastic today than we did 50 years ago? This is why it is so important to think carefully about how we use single-use plastic like plastic bags, straws, coffee stirrers, water bottles and food packaging! Ashburnham's Eco Science Council are taking the lead on this distressing issue and will be thinking carefully about ways to reduce the amount of plastic we waste within our school.
We hope you all have a great week.
The clubs listed below all have spaces still available. These are fantastic after-school opportunities for our pupils, but if there is not enough take-up then some may have to be cancelled, which would be a great shame. If you have any trouble signing up, please see the office. Thanks

Good afternoon Ash!
Happy Red Nose Day! I don think I have seen any more red in my life! Everyone has red noses with cool outfits, it's like the disco all over again. In 30 years of Red Nose Day we have managed to raise £1,000,000,000 in the UK, and last year we raised £78,082,988 in the UK alone!
Have a great weekend.
