<<First Name>>,

There is nothing that says "Canadian winters" quite like being on a horse-drawn wagon and hearing the harness bells as the horses make their way through the snow. Isn’t that Canadian? I think it is wonderful that young children and local residents had a chance to experience this joy at the Kanata-Hazeldean Lions Club Winter Carnival.

This winter carnival was one of the activities in Kanata-Carleton that I have had the pleasure to attend in the past few weeks. You will see below that I have been from West Carleton to Kanata South, from skating at a Family Day event to touring businesses and local community services. It has been a busy February in our community!

Though the Ontario Legislature has resumed for its Spring Session, I want to hear about local events. Let me know if you would like me to attend a special event, or to meet on a particular issue. I would be very pleased to connect on matters concerning you.

If I can assist you with your provincial government needs, please contact my staff at the Community Office. Do you need help with your health card, driver’s licence, Ontario photo card, birth certificate, name changes, or marriage certificate? Would someone you know like to receive a birthday, milestone anniversary, or congratulatory certificate? Contact my office.

Children enjoy the sights and sounds of the horse-drawn wagon at the Kanata-Hazeldean Lions Club Winter Carnival. Congratulations to all Lions members and volunteers who hosted this wonderful event in our community.

See below: Alan Hubley, Ottawa City Councillor for Kanata South, toured me around the Dick Brule Community Centre to speak with all the volunteers who helped with the Lions pancake breakfast.
I was very pleased to help cut the ceremonial ribbon to open the new McDonald's at 3015 Palladium Drive, across from the Tanger Outlet Stores. This will create more jobs and opportunities and add to our Kanata community.  Good to see Kanata North City Councillor Jenna Sudds at the event.
Congratulations to Perry McKenna and his McD's staff on the opening.

If you would like to have a MPP certificate for a special event, like a grand opening -- or a birthday or wedding anniversary -- contact my office and we can arrange for an official certificate to mark your occasion
I wish to thank hospice volunteer Sheila Brady and Stephen Whitehead, the Chair of the Board of Hospice Care Ottawa, for their informative discussion and for the tour of the Ruddy-Shenkman Hospice in Kanata.
Congratulations to the organizers of the All Seniors Care Seniors Games, a national competition of 30 retirement residences from five provinces across Canada. For four days in February the seniors competed in a variety of physical activities at Kanata’s Courtyards Retirement Residence.

I was so pleased to be part of the awards ceremonies at this seniors games. Contact my office if you wish for me to participate in a community event. I would love to attend if I can work it into my schedule.
It was also a pleasure to meet with Kanata North BIA executive members to hear about the growing impact of our high tech business community and to better understand the needs of this sector and region. Here is a remarkable fact: Kanata North's total economic impact on Canada’s GDP was $13B last year.
I attended a number of business meetings in Kanata-Carleton in the past few weeks. I was pleased to have Kevin Ford and the Calian Group team tour me through their new headquarters.

Below, I am meeting with local pharmacist Tamara Awada who owns the Constance Bay Pharmacy.

Contact my office staff if you wish to arrange a meeting at my Community Office - or to have me visit your place of business.
I was at the Kanata Sensplex for a Family Day Skate (photos above and below). It was wonderful to see so many young skaters, and many young-at-heart taking to the ice. Being at the arena certainly brought back great memories of my hockey mom days when my boys were suited up for the Kanata Blazers.
It is an honour to be your MPP and to be able to serve my community of Kanata-Carleton. Please let me know how I might assist if you have a provincial matter of concern. My contact information is below - and it is also found on my website - MerrileeFullerton.ca.
